My Internship Experience at Harper’s Bazaar Arabia
During my time as a fashion intern at Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, I got to explore many sides of the fashion world — from writing articles to working behind the scenes on fashion shoots. It was an amazing opportunity that gave me a deeper appreciation for how fashion is shared and told, both through words and visuals. Being part of a brand I’ve always admired made it even more special.
Fashion Blogging & Writing
One of the best parts of the internship was learning how to write about fashion in a way that’s clear, engaging, and true to the magazine’s voice. I wrote about everything from trends and designers to cultural shifts, including a cool article I worked on for Chanel. It helped me find my own voice and taught me how much thought goes into every piece of writing — something I now carry with me in my own work.
Content Creation & Social Media
I also got hands-on experience creating content for social media — filming, editing, and putting together videos that were both creative and strategic. Whether it was styling quick clips or breaking down trends in reels, I loved figuring out how to make fashion feel exciting and relatable online. Some of the posts I worked on did really well, gaining lots of engagement, and even caught the attention of designer Hervé Léger, who left a comment! That was a huge highlight and showed me just how important storytelling and connection are in fashion marketing.
Photography & Behind-the-Scenes
On top of writing and social media, I worked on the creative side of shoots — helping with concepts, styling, and moodboards. One of the most unforgettable experiences was working on a shoot for Louis Vuitton, where I saw how much detail and teamwork goes into making a high-fashion story come to life. It gave me a new appreciation for the art of photography and how every little choice shapes the way we experience fashion.
What I Learned
All in all, this internship was a huge stepping stone for me. It deepened my love for fashion and showed me the kind of creative work I want to keep doing — work that’s thoughtful, collaborative, and real. It was a chance to bring together writing, visuals, and marketing in a way that felt natural and inspiring.
